Common questions about our services.
Which of your services does Medicare cover?
Medicare covers 100% of hospice care and 100% of home health care for qualifying patients (no copay, no deductible). Medi-Cal provides the same for eligible California residents. Assisted living is not covered by Medicare, though Medi-Cal's IHSS program may help with some personal care costs. Cancer hospice falls under the Medicare Hospice Benefit. We verify your specific benefits before care begins, so no surprises.
What if my loved one needs to switch from one service to another?
That is exactly why Aasta offers all four services. If someone starts on home health after surgery and later needs hospice, we transition them internally. Same team, same records, no starting over with a new provider. It is one of the biggest reasons families choose us.
How fast can care start?
Most services start within 24 to 48 hours of physician orders. For hospital discharges and urgent situations, we offer same-day starts. Call us the moment you need us. We move fast because families in crisis do not have days to wait.
Do I need a doctor's order to get started?
For hospice, home health, and cancer palliative care, yes. A physician needs to order the service. We can help you talk to your doctor if you are not sure how to start that conversation. Assisted living does not require a doctor's order. If you already have a discharge planner or case manager, we can coordinate directly with them.
Where do you provide services?
Home health, hospice, and cancer care come to wherever your loved one is. Home, a parent's house, another assisted living community, or one of our own. Assisted living happens at our Aasta location. We serve Simi Valley, Bakersfield, Northridge, Camarillo, and surrounding SoCal areas.
