Assisted Living · Southern California

Assisted living that feels like a home. Not a facility.

Moving a parent out of their house is hard. It's also often the kindest thing you can do. At Aasta, they get their own room, real meals, and people who know them by name.

And because we also do home health and hospice, your loved one can stay with us as their needs change. No second move.

Understanding Assisted Living

It's not a nursing home.

Assisted living is for seniors who need a hand with daily things (bathing, meds, meals) but don't need hospital-level medical care. It's the middle ground between living alone and a nursing home.

At Aasta, that means a private room they can decorate. Meals with friends. Staff who remember their coffee order. And help whenever they need it, without them having to ask.

Not a nursing homeAssisted living is a residential community, warm, private, and home-like by design.
Independence is preservedResidents choose their schedule, activities, and how much help they want.
Family stays involvedWe welcome family visits and keep you informed about your loved one's care every step of the way.
What's Included

Everything under one roof.

Care, meals, activities, safety. All handled. Same faces every day, so your loved one feels known.

Personal Care Assistance

Compassionate help with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, provided with dignity and respect at whatever level of assistance is needed.

Medication Management

Staff give meds on time, track refills with your doctor, and watch for side effects. Fewer mistakes, fewer scares.

Nutritious Meals & Snacks

Three home-cooked meals daily plus snacks, prepared with attention to dietary restrictions, preferences, and cultural backgrounds. Meals are a social occasion, not just nutrition.

24-Hour Supervision & Safety

Trained staff are present around the clock. Emergency call systems in every room and common area ensure help is always moments away, giving families true peace of mind.

Social Activities & Engagement

Daily activities designed to keep residents mentally and physically engaged, from gentle exercise and games to music, arts, outings, and celebrating personal milestones.

Housekeeping & Laundry

Clean, comfortable living spaces maintained by our staff, including regular housekeeping, personal laundry, and linen service, so residents can focus on living, not chores.

Is It the Right Fit?

Is it time?

Most families wait too long. The earlier you move, the easier the transition. Look for these signs:

Struggling with bathing, dressing, cooking, or managing medications independently
Recent falls, injuries, or close calls at home that signal increasing safety risk
Social isolation, loneliness, or depression from living alone without regular interaction
Family caregiver burnout, when caring at home has become unsustainable or unsafe
Early memory concerns, dementia, or cognitive decline that requires structured daily support

Common Questions

Assisted Living FAQs

Does Medicare or Medi-Cal cover assisted living?

Medicare does not cover assisted living room and board costs. However, Medi-Cal's IHSS (In-Home Supportive Services) program may help cover some personal care costs for eligible residents. Some long-term care insurance policies do cover assisted living. Our team can help you review your options and identify any financial assistance you may qualify for.

Can my loved one bring their own furniture and belongings?

Absolutely, and we encourage it. Bringing familiar furniture, photos, and personal items makes a significant difference in how quickly a new resident feels at home. We work with families to make the room feel personal and comfortable from the very first day.

How often can family members visit?

Family is always welcome. We have no strict visiting hour restrictions and encourage families to be involved, join meals, participate in activities, or simply spend time with your loved one. Family presence supports emotional wellbeing and gives you firsthand visibility into the quality of care.

What happens if my loved one's care needs increase over time?

Care plans are living documents that we update regularly as needs change. Because Aasta also provides hospice and home health services, we can layer clinical care on top of assisted living support, meaning residents can often remain in their familiar environment even as needs increase, rather than being relocated to a nursing facility.

How do I know if my loved one will be happy there?

The best way to know is to visit. We invite you to come for a meal, spend an afternoon, and meet the staff and current residents. Most families tell us they could tell within the first hour whether it felt right. Many residents who were initially reluctant about moving become some of our most social and content members of the community within weeks.
