Recovery care that comes to your door.

Your doctor writes the order. We show up. Medicare covers 100% for anyone who qualifies. No copay, no surprise bill.

Not just for the elderlyAny patient of any age recovering from surgery or illness can qualify.

Speech-language pathologists address swallowing difficulties, communication challenges, and cognitive-communication issues that commonly arise after stroke or neurological events.

Home Health Aide Services

Certified aides assist with personal care, bathing, grooming, and light housekeeping, as part of a physician-ordered care plan. Available alongside skilled nursing or therapy visits.

Common Questions

Home Health FAQs

Is home health care the same as having a home caregiver?

No, they are different. Home health care is skilled medical care provided by licensed professionals (nurses, therapists) under a physician's order and covered by Medicare. A home caregiver or companion provides non-medical assistance with daily activities and is typically paid privately. Aasta provides the skilled medical side; we can help you understand what level of care is appropriate.

How long can someone receive home health care?

Medicare covers home health in 60-day episodes that can be renewed as long as the patient remains homebound and continues to need skilled care. There is no set limit on the total number of episodes. Your physician re-certifies the need at each renewal period.

Does Medicare pay 100% for home health?

Yes. Medicare Part A and Part B cover 100% of approved home health services, including nursing, therapy, social work, and aide services, with no deductible and no copay for qualifying patients. Medi-Cal also provides coverage for eligible California residents. We verify your specific benefits before care begins.

What does "homebound" mean for home health eligibility?

Homebound means leaving home requires a considerable effort due to illness or injury. Patients can still attend medical appointments, religious services, or adult day programs and remain homebound. It does not mean you cannot leave, it means leaving is difficult. Our intake team can assess your situation and determine eligibility quickly.

Can I choose Aasta if I am being discharged from a hospital?

Absolutely. Under Medicare, you have the right to choose your home health agency. If a hospital discharge planner suggests a different agency, you are always free to request Aasta Health instead. We can coordinate with the hospital directly to ensure a smooth, same-day or next-day transition home.
